กลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ม้งมีประวัติศาสตร์ที่ยาวนานไม่น้อยกว่า 3,000 ปี และจากหลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์บ่งชี้ว่าชาติพันธุ์ม้งเคยทีมีถิ่นอาศัยอยู่ลุ่มน้ำฮวงโห บริเวณมณฑลเหอเป่ยในปัจจุบัน โดยประกอบอาชีพทำนาและเกษตรกรรมในลุ่มน้ำที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ดังกล่าวและได้เคลื่อนย้ายลงมาทางใต้เรื่อยๆ เข้าสู่คาบสมุทรอินโดจีน ปัจจุบันชาวม้งส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในภูมิภาคทางใต้ของประเทศจีน รองลงมาคือประเทศเวียดนาม ลาว ไทย และเมียนมาร์ นอกจากนี้มีบางส่วนอาศัยอยู่ในทวีปอเมริกา ยุโรป ออสเตรเลีย และญี่ปุ่น
ปัจจุบัน หนุ่มสาวชาวม้งในประเทศไทยจำนวนมากได้ย้ายเข้าไปอยู่ในเขตเมืองเพื่อการศึกษาเล่าเรียน หางานทำ และประกอบธุรกิจ โดยเฉพาะในกรุงเทพฯ และปริมณฑล ในระยะแรกๆ ได้มีการนัดหมายพบปะกันในวันแม่และวันพ่อแห่งชาติ เพื่อทำกิจกรรมเทิดพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวและสมเด็จพระบรมราชินี ตลอดจนทำกิจกรรมสันทนาการร่วมกันเป็นประจำทุกปีเรื่อยมา และได้ตั้งชื่อกลุ่มว่า กลุ่มม้งกรุงเทพ ต่อมา ประมาณปี พ.ศ. 2536 ได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น ชมรมม้งกรุงเทพ และจนกระทั่งเมื่อวันที่ 20 กรกฎาคม 2560 จึงได้มีการจดทะเบียนเป็น สมาคมม้งกรุงเทพและเครือข่าย

พันธกิจ
มีภารกิจในการส่งเสริมความรักสามัคคีในหมู่สมาชิก จัดกิจกรรมกีฬาสำหรับเยาวชน ทำกิจกรรมเพื่อสังคมเช่น ปลูกป่า และ ระดมเงินทุนช่วยเหลือสังคมที่ประสบภัยพิบัติธรรมชาติ ส่งเสริมการศึกษาให้เยาวชนด้วยการมอบทุนการศึกษา สอนภาษาอังกฤษ และจัดกิจกรรมพบปะระหว่างนักศึกษาม้งไทยและนักศึกษาม้งในต่างประเทศ อนุรักษ์ศิลปวัฒนธรรมและขนบธรรมเนียมประเพณี และส่งเสริมอาชีพให้ชาวม้ง

The Hmong ethnic group has a history spanning over 3,000 years, with evidence suggesting their origins along the Yellow River in present-day Hubei Province, China. They later migrated southward to Southeast Asia and China Seas, and today, they predominantly reside in southern China, as well as in Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. Hmong communities also exist in North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan.
Currently, many young Hmong individuals in Thailand have relocated to urban areas, particularly in Bangkok and its suburbs, for educational purposes, employment, and business ventures. In the early stages, they used to gather on National Mother’s and Father’s Day to conduct activities to pay respect to Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand, as well as engaging in recreational activities every year. The group was initially known as the Hmong Bangkok Group. Subsequently, around 1993, it was renamed as the Hmong Bangkok Club. Finally, on July 20, 2017, it was officially registered as the Hmong Bangkok and Network Association.

Promote unity among members, organize youth sports activities, engage in community-related initiatives like tree planting, raise funds for disaster-stricken communities, provide educational scholarships, offer English language instruction, facilitate cultural exchanges between Thai Hmong and Hmong students from other countries, preserve cultural heritage, and promote livelihoods for Hmong people.
